Routers
A router is a networking device that connects multiple computer networks and directs data traffic between them. It works by receiving data packets from one network and determining the best path to forward them to their destination on another network. Routers use IP addresses to identify devices and ensure that information reaches the correct location. They are commonly used to connect local area networks (LANs) to wide area networks (WANs), such as linking home or office networks to the internet. In addition to routing data, many modern routers provide features like network security, wireless connectivity, and traffic management to optimize performance and protect against unauthorized access.
